Fort Johnson Estates is an established community on James Island. Most of these houses are brick, ranch-styled homes that were built around the 1960’s. Many of these homes have been tastefully renovated, so they are very nice on the inside. And, since these homes are older, they have large lot sizes for James Island. Some houses in Fort Johnson Estates sit on half-acre lots.
Ocean Neighbors has a great location – it is less than 5 minutes to Folly Beach. Built between 1999 and 2003, these homes are relatively new. Also, Ocean Neighbors has a large lake in the middle of the community with green space, and some of the most expensive homes there overlook the lake.
Lawton Harbor also has newer homes. Most were built between 2000 and 2004. The architecture and textured vinyl siding of the homes gives Lawton Harbor a cottage feel.
