Dunes West Amenities
The Dunes West Property Owners Association (POA) fees for 2011 are $1,364 for residents who live inside the gate at Dunes West. Fees are $380 for those living outside of the gate. The Dunes West POA collects their dues twice a year, so half of this amount is due in January and the other half is due in July.
There is a separate membership that you'll need to get if you want to use the amenities at Dunes West. We've included the 2011 costs below for the main membership:
Premier Resident Membership (includes golf, tennis, pools, fitness, boat ramp, and social club house privileges):
- Non-refundable initiation fee - $6,500
- Monthly dues of $265 per individual or $310 per family
You’ll find additional membership options for the golf and athletic club. Dunes West has a swimming pool designated just for adults.
The kids pool has a zero-entry area and a waterslide.
You'll find 9 tennis courts (2 that are clay and 7 that are hard courts), a pro shop, and a full-time tennis pro.

Dunes West has 2 club houses. The one pictured above is located with all of the non-golf amenities. It overlooks the pool and has a fitness center (which offers various classes), a kitchen, and a dining area.
Here is the main community dock, which has a large floater attached.
Dunes West also has its own boat ramp just for residents to use.
Dry boat storage is located within the neighborhood as well.
Some of the subsections have their own crabbing docks.
Dunes West Golf and Club House
Dunes West has one of the nicest golf club houses in all of Charleston. Hundred year old live oaks lead up to the house, which was was built where the antebellum Lexington Plantation once stood.

Heavy, stained mouldings and high ceilings add to the luxury of the club house. Up the stairs you'll find more private lounging and entertaining areas.
Nothing quite says Southern hospitality like comfy furniture on a wide wrap-around porch.
Not to mention views of the marsh and golf course.
The upstairs dining room is ideal for weddings and private parties.
There's also a bar attached to the upstairs dining area.

The golf club has its own pool for members only.
Dunes West is one of the best neighborhoods in Mt. Pleasant to find large, estate-sized lots. Many of these homes overlook the golf course and/or marsh.
