Enjoy the Fantastic Weather in Charleston!

This is going to be a great week to get outside and enjoy our gorgeous weather. Next weekend is supposed to be in the low 70’s! Here are a few upcoming events to consider:

• The Town of Mount Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival: Sunday, April 28 from 11:30 AM to 6 PM. The festival is a free event and features a boat parade and ceremonial blessing of the shrimp and fishing fleet, plus seafood samplings from local restaurants, live music, an arts and crafts show, dancing, shrimp-eating contests, and family-friendly activities. Located at the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park on Harry M. Hallman Jr. Boulevard (you’ll see the Mount Pleasant Pier pictured, which is part of this park that’s located adjacent to the Ravenel Bridge).
• Echaw Creek Kayak Tour: Sunday, April 28 at 9:30 AM and Saturday, June 15 at 9:30 AM. This narrow tributary of the great Santee River meanders through rich forests that are filled with wildlife. Paddlers will get to see the great Santee Delta, which was once the breadbasket of the rice era. $88/adults, $58/children 12 and under. Bulls Bay Supply is located at 10086 N. Highway 17 in McClellanville.
• Charleston Beer Week: From April 21 through 27, you can celebrate Charleston's beer culture with a week of tastings and events at various venues all over the city. Perhaps the biggest event of the week will be the Seasonal Beer Bar Crawl. This event takes place on Saturday, April 27 starting at noon. Bars throughout the peninsula will each host one brewery and feature some of their finest beers at a special price just for Charleston Beer Week participants.
