Luxury Real Estate in Charleston, SC

Charleston has many areas with luxury real estate. Whether you’re looking for beachfront, waterfront, or historic homes, Charleston has a great selection of high end real estate.

Downtown Charleston's fine homes are some of the most photographed homes in the low country, and homes downtown are featured regularly in magazines like Southern Accents and Coastal Living. Real estate prices depend on location, views, and historical relevance. Most of these homes have private courtyards, large porches, and classic Charleston architecture. And, some of these homes have spectacular views of the Charleston Harbor.

Mt. Pleasant has quite a few luxury home neighborhoods. I’on and Dunes West are nationally known for their fine homes. Rivertowne, Hibben, Park West, and Belle Hall are also popular luxury communities in this Charleston area. Many of the homes are marshfront, and these Mt. Pleasant communities have wonderful amenities.

Daniel Island is a little further out from downtown Charleston, but it is also a great place to look for luxury real estate. Daniel Island has a small town feel, and the builders have designed this area to have a strong sense of community. And, Bishop England, one of the top private schools in the state, is within walking distance to most of the Daniel Island neighborhoods.

If you’re looking for a luxury beach home in Charleston, you may want to look at Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, or Folly Beach. These areas have a very laid back feel, and all have public beach accesses. So, although these areas don’t have the prestigious setting of some of the other Charleston areas, you can get more real estate for your money and still have a beach setting.

For luxury real estate with a private beach setting, you can look at Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Wild Dunes. These areas offer luxury real estate within the context of a private resort. They have some of the finest amenities in the Charleston area, including golf and tennis. Wild Dunes Resort is located at the northern end of the Isle of Palms, so it has the best location of the three private beaches. It’s a short five minute drive to Mount Pleasant and about a twenty minute drive to downtown Charleston. Kiawah and Seabrook are further out – at least thirty minutes from Charleston – but are also some of buyers’ top choices for luxury real estate.
