Piccolo Spoleto Events Next Weekend in Charleston, SC

The Spoleto Festival starts this Friday in Charleston! Come check out a few of next weekend’s events:

  • Children’s Festival presents Reaching for the Stars: On Saturday, May 25 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Enjoy live music and dance performances, hands-on arts and crafts activities, storytellers, performances by the Seed and Seed Marching Abominable band from Georgia, and more. This is free and is part of Piccolo Spoleto. Marion Square is located at the intersection of Calhoun and King Streets in Downtown Charleston.
  • Sunset Serenade Showcases West Side Story: On Sunday, May 26 at 8 PM. The dramatic setting turns the city into a stage as the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the CSO’s acting Artistic Director, Yuriy Bekker, performs a concert version of West Side Story with world-class guest soloists. Performance time is estimated at 1 hour, 30 minutes. This Piccolo Spoleto event is free. The U.S. Custom House is on 200 E. Bay Street in Downtown Charleston.
  • RISK! Featuring Kevin Allison: On Friday, May 24 at 9:30 PM; Saturday, May 25 at 10 PM; and Sunday, May 26 at 9:30 PM. RISK! is a live show and podcast where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public, hosted by Kevin Allison of the legendary TV sketch comedy troupe, The State. Adult audiences only, and the show lasts approximately 1 hour. Part of Piccolo Fringe. Admission is $16. Located at Theatre 99, 280 Meeting Street in Downtown Charleston
