Ashborough East is ideal for buyers wanting older brick homes, large lot sizes, and good public schools. Located off Dorchester Road in Summerville, Ashborough East was first established in the 1980's with homes built as late at the 1990's. Amenities include pool, tennis courts, club house, play park, and volleyball court.

Blackberry Creek is located a little further out in Summerville which means that buyers get more house for the money. However, it's still within the boundaries of the highly sought after Dorchester 2 School District.

Bridges of Summerville is one of the most affordable neighborhoods in Summerville, and this central location is ideal. Buyers will find an especially good selection of one story, open floor plans in this community. Amenities include a swimming pool, club house, and play park.

Cane Bay Plantation offers new construction homes from a long list of popular home builders. This large scale development has an elementary, middle, and high school all within its borders along with shopping, restaurants, and even a YMCA!

Carnes Crossroads is a new construction community in Summerville with a 2,300 acre master plan that incorporates commercial and residential spaces. Amenities include a swimming pool with kids' splash area and hundreds of acres of parks and open spaces for residents to enjoy.

Drakesborough offers newer homes by the builder Beazer. If you're commuting to the Volvo plant, this neighborhood should certainly be on your list to consider!

Felder Creek has newly finished homes which appeal to buyers looking for a neighborhood that is already established. It also has some of the lowest HOA fees you'll find in Summerville. Although it's technically within the Summerville city limits, the zoned schools are for the Berkeley County District.

Highwoods Plantation offers a central location since it's off Dorchester Road. With no amenities, this neighborhood is able to keep the HOA fees quite affordable.

The Historic District of Summerville is the only true historic neighborhood in Dorchester County. Although most of these homes date from 1900 to 1950, you'll find occasional homes that were built as early as the 1830's. The most affordable homes in the Historic District are brick ranch style houses from the 1970's and 1980's. Because of the wide range of prices and the low supply of listings, know that it can take several months to find the type of home you're looking for.

Lakes of Summerville is one of Summerville's largest neighborhoods, and amenities include a pool and clubhouse. Here, you'll find both townhomes and single family detached houses.

Legend Oaks Plantation is by far one of Summerville's most popular neighborhoods. Legend Oaks is ideal for buyers wanting an upscale, esatblished community with a full range of amenities (golf, 2 swimming pools, tennis courts, and a club house with dining and pro shop). Many of these homes overlook the golf course near the Ashley River.

Myers Mill is only about six miles from historic downtown Summerville, so it's in a great location with relatively easy access to Interstate 26. This neighborhood has a Junior Olympic swimming pool and outdoor pavilion. Also, some of the lot sizes here are comparatively large for newer homes, with more than a quarter of an acre.

Nexton is a new construction, mixed use community that combines residential and commercial spaces. Its location just off Interstate 26 makes it an ideal Summerville neighborhood for commuters heading south towards Downtown Charleston or (going north) to the new Volvo manufacturing campus.

Pine Forest Country Club is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Summerville for newer brick or partial brick houses with large lot sizes. This upscale golf community has been given four stars by Golf Digest, which called it a Hidden Gem of Charleston. Other amenities include a club house, tennis courts, and a Junior Olympic pool.

The Ponds is a new community with a strong emphasis on green space and nature since about 1,100 acres have been designated for preservation. The developers have likened The Ponds to the popular Park West and Dunes West subdivisions of Mt. Pleasant due to its size and upscale amenities.

Reminisce is one of only a few Charleston style neighborhoods in Summerville, SC. Located off Butternut Road, Reminisce features classic home designs with double front porches, nine foot ceilings, and detached garages. Most of these homes have two or three stories, but The Wagner floorplan has a one-story layout option.

Scott's Mill is just a few miles away from downtown Summerville and is popular for its affordability. It's also known for having a large selection of one story homes with no stairs. Scott's Mill is located between West Fifth Street and Highway 17.

Summer Trace has no amenities, which adds to the long-term affordability of its homes (which are well-priced to begin with). Its smaller size also appeals to home buyers who dislike large scale subdivisions. Summer Trace is located just off Trolley Road in Summerville, SC.

Summers Corner is one of the most impressive new construction communities you'll find in Charleston's tri-county area. For buyers wanting a newer home within walking distance of schools and entertainment, this neighborhood is absolutely worth a tour.

Sunburst Lakes is located off Old Orangeburg Road in Summerville. This neighborhood is ideal for buyers looking for affordable waterfront living (with pond and lakefront houses priced under $220K). Amenities include a swimming pool, club house, play park, and an additional storage area for boats and RV's.

Weatherstone has one of the best locations in Summerville. Just off the I-26 exit, you'll find numerous entertaining and dining options. Plus, this community has its own pool and playground.

Wescott Plantation is the largest neighborhood in Summerville, and it's made up of town homes and also single family homes. In all of tri-county Charleston, Wescott Plantation is perhaps the most affordable golf community. Residents can also enjoy the neighborhood's pool, club house, play park, and soccer field. Many of these homes back up to wetlands and/or the golf course.

White Gables is an enormously popular neighborhood because of the charming home styles (it can be hard to find these distinct Victorian, Bungalow, and Charleston styles in Summerville in this price point). The main drawback to this community is the smaller lot sizes. However, many buyers are willing to forego the extra yard space to live here and to get access to such a range of amenities including swimming pool, basketball court, tennis courts, a large club house, play park, and walking trails.
