Legend Oaks Plantation is one of the few neighborhoods in Summerville offering golf. Its course was recognized as a 2010 South Carolina Golf Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Owners Association. It has a beautiful club house with hundred year old live oak trees leading up to this Lowcountry style property that was a former rice plantation. The club house offers a restaurant and pro shop. Two swimming pools and four lighted tennis courts are also included in the Legend Oaks amenities.
Because the neighborhood has been developed over the course of about 15 years, buyers are often pleased to see a wider range in home designs compared to other newer construction communities. The golf course winds through the whole neighborhood, so there are plenty of golf cart paths and green spaces throughout which buyers like. Multiple entrances off Hwy 61 (including a gated portion with higher end homes) make Legend Oaks convenient for getting to nearby shopping and restaurants. You might also compare Summers Corner just down the road and The Ponds. We’re happy to give you a tour of comparable neighborhoods and help find your perfect fit!
The Highlands subsection of Legend Oaks has condos, but otherwise the community is made up of single family houses - so you’ll find a range of price points and buyers who are attracted to this community.
Home buyers also tend to like the mature trees and landscaping in Legend Oaks as well as the Dorchester District 2 schools: Beech Hill Elementary, Gregg Middle, and Ashley Ridge High School (some homes are zoned for Summerville High which is also in the sought after Dorchester 2 District).
After nearly 20 years in real estate, we’ve found that buyers who choose Legend Oaks homes are usually looking for an established neighborhood with a country club or higher end feel to it.
Even homeowners who don’t play golf enjoy living on the course because of the green space and views that it offers. Plus, folks who enjoy running or walking can take advantage of the numerous paths that wind throughout the neighborhood. Summerville has only 2 other golf course communities: Pine Forest Country Club and Wescott Plantation.
