Clearview is one of the most sought after neighborhoods on James Island because of its prime location off Harbor View Road, traditional brick homes (especially brick ranch style), large lots with mature trees, and excellent public schools. This neighborhood is an easy 5 minute drive to Downtown Charleston (just 2 stop lights to get on the James Island Connector!) and about 10 minutes from Folly Beach. Residents can walk to Demetre Park (often referred to among locals as Sunrise Park) which is located directly on the Harbor. Here you’ll find a large fishing dock with floater, two sandy beach areas, and picnic tables. Homes in Clearview range from small, brick houses needing updates to multi million dollar estates on Clearview Drive that overlook the Charleston Harbor. Clearview Homes for Sale
Clearview is highly popular among James Island home buyers looking for older homes in an established community. Known for its large oak trees, spacious sized lots, coveted harbor views, and great location, Clearview appeals to buyers in a wide range of prices going up to several million dollars. Most of the homes in this neighborhood were built from the 1960’s to the 1980’s, so you’ll find a good selection of floor plans with formal living and dining rooms. The majority of houses have brick exteriors, although you’ll also find some siding including vinyl, wood, and hardy plank.
Clearview is one of only a few communities on James Island overlooking the Charleston Harbor, downtown, and the Ravenel Bridge (the others are White Point Estates, Stiles Point Plantation, and Eastwood). Buyers are often pleased to learn that Clearview does not have an HOA (or an HOA fee), which is surprising considering how well the homes in this community are maintained.
Clearview is zoned for Stiles Point Elementary (one of the top rated on the island), and all island residents attend Camp Road Middle and James Island Charter High School.
