Stratton by the Sound is a newer construction community built by Ashton Woods in Mount Pleasant, SC. This marshfront neighborhood offers views of Copahee Sound and Dewees Island. Stratton by the Sound's location off Stockton Drive puts it a little further out in Mount Pleasant. Downtown Charleston is about a 30 minute drive, and the beach is just over 15 minutes. Numerous shopping and restaurant options are within an easy 5-10 minute drive, so you'll find plenty to do nearby. Buyers tend to like that this neighborhood is more tucked away compared to other communities that have an entrance directly off a major highway (Old Course Lane is the main turnoff from Hwy 17, and you'll find a few more turns before you get to Stratton's entrance). Here, you'll find about 14 lowcountry style floor plans by Ashton Woods that are mostly on elevated foundations where the ground floor is parking and storage. Home sizes range from about 2,120 to 4,354 square feet and 3 to 6 bedrooms. All of the floor plans offer nice front porches, and many of these run the full length of the home.

Compared to other new construction communities in Mount Pleasant (like Carolina Park or Oyster Point), Stratton by the Sound is smaller with a more intimate setting. There are only 6 streets with homes: Stratton Place, Saltflat Lane, Spottail Court, Pandora Drive, Menhaden Lane, and Kayak Lane.
