Cane Bay Subsections and Map

There are so many subsections in Cane Bay Plantation that it can be overwhelming for home buyers. So here’s a quick run down along with a map to help (you can also chat with us)! Lakes of Cane Bay features a 300 acre lake ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. Four Seasons and Del Webb at Cane Bay are both 55+ plus communities, the latter boasting an impressive 20,000 square foot amenity center.

Saxony Lake (Mungo new homes) and The Hammocks (Crescent Homes) are adjacent to the new YMCA - a 68 acre complex with sports fields, an elevated walking track, indoor pool, and more. Magnolia is a Dan Ryan community with 6 ponds.

Old Rice Retreat is adjacent to the public schools, and most of these Centex homes are within walking distance of the commercial section (see the Cane Bay Plantation master plan to map these specific neighborhoods).

Palmetto Walk is the smallest of Cane Bay’s communities (only 74 homes by Sabal), and it’s nestled at the front of the community - ideal for buyers who want the walkability that this type of lifestyle provides. However, it does not have its own pool. The Oaks is a natural gas community by Beazer with homes up to 7 bedrooms (some of the most bedrooms you’ll find in any Charleston new construction neighborhood)! Sanctuary Cove is popular for its craftsman style architecture built by Mungo Homes and Landmark 24. Lindera Preserve is exclusively built by Lennar.

Pender Woods (built by Starlight Homes) and Pine Hills (DR Horton) are very similar and offer some of the most affordable options right now.

Cane Bay Schools

Cane Bay Elementary (pictured) opened its doors in 2009 and serves students from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade. Its campus is impressive with a 98,000 square foot school that cost $19.8 million when it was built. Of all the schools in the Berkeley County School District, this set of 3 that Cane Bay Plantation is zoned for tend to be the most sought after among home buyers.

Cane Bay Middle School opened three years later (in 2012) for children aged fifth through eighth grade. The 116,000 square foot facility houses about 1,300 students which makes it one of the largest middle schools in tri-county Charleston.

Cane Bay High School opened in 2008 and is perhaps best known for its regional champion robotics team and its award winning chorus program. Its 365,000 square foot facility made it the school district’s priciest project at around $70 million. It enrolls about 1,900 students.

Home buyers tend to like the newness of these facilities, the convenience that comes with kids being able to walk or bike to school, and the fact that these are some of the highest ranked public schools in Berkeley County.

Because this area has seen such rapid growth, the zoned schools are beyond capacity and the district has implemented a capacity restriction for Cane Bay Elementary and Middle Schools.
