Jamestowne Village is a smaller neighborhood located off Dills Bluff Road on James Island. This neighborhood was developed in the early 2000’s by one builder, so there’s a nice consistency of quality and building materials. Buyers tend to like the traditional and low country styles with these homes, and most have detached garages in the back which help create a clean streetscape. Buyers who purchase a home in Jamestowne Village are usually looking for a smaller yard that is lower maintenance, great public schools, and a convenient proximity to Downtown Charleston and the beach. The best part about this location is being able to hop on Dills Bluff and head straight to Harbor View Road where you are almost at the foot of the James Island Connector. Downtown is about an 8 minute drive. Also, being able to easily take back roads to get to Folly Beach (avoiding Folly Road for a bit) can shave off a few minutes of your beach trip (which takes about 5-10 minutes total). This central location on James Island is ideal for commuters!

You can watch a movie at the Terrace Theater, visit a nearby public park like Demetre, exercise at the James Island County Park, or head Downtown for more entertainment. Jamestowne Village offers such a central location, it’s convenient to go out when you’re just 10 minutes or less from so many options.
Jamestowne Village is made up of one street (Swamp Fox Lane) which circles around the neighborhood and is lined with a sidewalk and street lights. A few of the homes back up to the small community pond, and these tend to be the most sought after homes for sale because of the views and privacy. Lot sizes are smaller than average for James Island neighborhoods (around 0.13-0.20 acre), but they are still large enough for children and pets to play in. Floor plans are 3 to 4 bedrooms with at least 2 full baths.
The school zoning is for Harbor View Elementary (one of the island’s best). All James Island residents attend Camp Road Middle and James Island Charter High which also rank well in Charleston County.
