The Villages in St. John's Woods is one of the most popular neighborhoods on Johns Island. With homes built from 2003 to 2017, you'll find current new construction options by Crescent in the Lakeside section and by Pulte in The Arbors in St. Johns Woods. This community is known for its charming designs that include bungalows, craftsman styles, and of course the classic Charleston shotgun style that is prevalent in downtown. The houses also have great architectural details and upgrades such as heavy crown mouldings and trim work, high ceilings, hardy plank exteriors, and stylish front porches. Many of these homes back up to woods or overlook one of the small parks located within the neighborhood (pictured right). After years of hearing feedback from buyers, the most common negative remark we get is lot size.
The majority of these lots range from a fifth to a fourth of an acre (which is smaller than average for newer homes on Johns Island but is to be expected for most new construction in Charleston County). To make up for smaller lots, The Villages in St. John's Woods has a 6-acre park and amenities like a swimming pool (pictured left), club house, and children’s play park.
The community is located directly off Maybank Highway. Just down the road you’ll find great local restaurants like Fat Hen (Southern/French food), Maria’s Mexican Grill, and Wild Olive (Italian). Downtown Charleston is about a 15 minute drive, and Folly Beach is about 20 minutes away.
