Mt. Pleasant Single Family Home Neighborhoods

Belle Hall features single family houses, and many are built in the Charleston style. Home buyers generally like Belle Hall because of its classic home designs. However, the lot sizes for Belle Hall are much smaller than average for Mt. Pleasant. This community has good amenities, though, like tennis courts, two pools, a club house, a volleyball court, and a children's play park. This Mount Pleasant residential neighborhood is located where Long Point Road meets Interstate 526. Belle Hall is about 15 minutes from downtown and about 10 minutes away from the closest beach.

Brickyard Plantation is a marshfront community with deep water access. Amenities include a community boat ramp, dock facilities, pool, tennis courts, fitness area, club house, and play park. Brickyard Plantation has quite a few high end homes, and there are usually many brick homes on the market to choose from. Buyers looking for brick homes in Mt. Pleasant generally put this neighborhood at the top of their list. Brickyard Plantation is in Mount Pleasant where Highway 41 intersects Highway 17. It's about 15 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from downtown. Brickyard Plantation has only single family homes, and prices start in the low $300's and go up to over $2 million.

Carol Oaks is a very popular neighborhood because of the home designs. It features classic Charleston styled homes. This community was built only in the past few years, so it's also quite new. This neighborhood's continued popularity makes it a good investment because of the strong resale value in the future.

Carolina Park, the newest neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant, is still in the early stages of development. This community is being marketed as a new Park West or Dunes West, and it will feature homes starting in the high $300s. Carolina Park in Mt. Pleasant will have several home builders to choose from, but Brentwood Homes is the dominant builder working in the neighborhood so far. Other builders will include South Atlantic Builders, Advanced Builders, and Allen Custom Homes.

Chadbury Village is a starter home neighborhood in Mount Pleasant, SC that is made up of only single family homes. Prices range from the low to high $200's. This community is relatively small compared to other Mount Pleasant neighborhoods. Most of the homes in Chadbury Village were built around 2000, and the average square footage is roughly 1500 to 1600 square feet. Chadbury Village has a play park and is about 15 minutes from downtown Charleston and 10 minutes from the beach.

Charleston National has mostly single family homes, but it also has town homes and condominiums. This golf community in Mt. Pleasant, SC has prices starting under $300,000 and going up to more than $3,000,000, making Charleston National one of the most affordable golf communities in Mount Pleasant. The main drawback to this neighborhood is its location. Charleston National is about a 25 minute drive from downtown Charleston. However, it has good amenities like a golf course, tennis courts, a club house, a pool, a fitness area, and a play park. The closest beach is about a 10 minute drive.

Darrell Creek features only houses. Some of the homes in this Mount Pleasant marshfront community have great views of the tidal creek and marsh. Darrell Creek has a dock and pool for its residents. This neighborhood is also a little farther out in Mt. Pleasant - it's about a 30 minute drive to downtown. Home prices start around $500K and rise to more than $1 million. The closest beach is about 15 minutes from Darrell Creek.

Glenlake's homes were built mostly in the 1990s, so some of them need a little updating - but no major renovations. Also some of the homes back up to the pond for added privacy. Glenlake home prices range from the high $200s to the mid $300s.

Grassy Creek is another marshfront community in Mt. Pleasant, SC, and its amenities include a park and dock facilities. Home buyers generally like Grassy Creek because it is smaller than some of the other Mount Pleasant neighborhoods. Also, Grassy Creek has mature trees, relatively large lot sizes, and custom built homes. Many of these homes have views of the marsh and tidal creek. The closest beach is about 10 minutes away, and downtown Charleston is about 15 minutes away. Prices start in the low $500's and go up to more than $1 million.

The Groves homes were built mostly from the 1950s to the 1980s. Mt. Pleasant home buyers will find a range of homes styles in this community as well as mature trees and landscaping.

Hamlin Plantation is also a very popular Mt. Pleasant neighborhood among home buyers. It features condos, townhouses, and houses, so it fits a wide price range for buyers. If you're looking strictly to be in a single family neighborhood, though, Hamlin Plantation may not be the neighborhood for you. One of the biggest pros to this neighborhood is the low country style that you'll find in many of the home designs.

Hidden Lakes has houses in a great location in Mt. Pleasant. It is within walking distance to the Towne Center outdoor shopping mall, so it's also about a 10 minute drive from the beach and about a 15 minute drive from downtown Charleston. Hidden Lakes amenities include a club house, a pool, a basketball court, tennis courts, a separate parking area for boats, and a children's play area. is located in Mount Pleasant, SC, where Hwy 17 meets Hwy 517. Hidden Lakes is made up of only single family homes, which are priced from the mid $400's to the $800's. Also, residents can use the cut-through to walk to Towne Center.

Hobcaw Creek Plantation is a Mt. Pleasant community with traditional home designs. Many of these homes have brick exteriors, and some are located on deep water. Home prices in Hobcaw Creek start just under $500,000 and go up to more than $2 million.

Horlbeck Creek is another one of Mount Pleasant's marshfront communities. Although many of the homes in Horlbeck Creek have private docks, there is also a community dock. And, many of these homes have great marsh views. Most Horlbeck Creek homes were built in the mid to late 1990s, and the average square footage is roughly 2600 square feet. Horlbeck Creek is a single family home neighborhood located off Hwy 41 in Mount Pleasant, SC. Home prices start around the low $300's and go up to the mid $700's. Horlbeck Creek is about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston and about 10 minutes from the closest beach, the Isle of Palms.

I'on, along with Dunes West (see above), are two of the most sought after neighbrhoods in Mt. Pleasant. Because of this high demand, they're also two of the most expensive communities. I'on is known for its Charleston style homes. It was designed so that walking down one of its streets would feel like walking around in historic downtown Charleston. So, if you're looking for classic Charleston style but prefer newer homes, I'on is an excellent choice to consider.

Ivy Hall has some of the least expensive houses in Mt. Pleasant. This community is located off Lexington Street (which is kind of tucked away on Hwy 17). Ivy Hall has traditional home styles, and most were built in the late 1990s.

Laurel Grove features new homes in Mt. Pleasant with Charleston styles. Home buyers generally like Laurel Grove because of the classic home designs. The main drawback, though, is the smaller lot sizes - most are under a fifth of an acre.

Longpoint is a single family neighborhood just off Longpoint Road in Mount Pleasant, SC. Home prices in Longpoint start in the mid $200's and go up to the $700's. Residents can walk to the Palmetto Island County Park, which offers nature trails, a water park, and fishing. Longpoint has one of the lowest HOA dues in Mt. Pleasant, but it still has good amenities like a swimming pool, tennis courts, club house, play park, and basketball court. This neighborhood is about 10 minutes from the beach and about 15 minutes from downtown Charleston.

New Parrish Village homes have a classic Charleston style, complete with Charleston-colored exteriors. This is a smaller Mt. Pleasant community compared to others, and most of the homes were built around 2006. New Parrish Village is in an excellent location - about 5 minutes from Sullivan's Island and 15 minutes from downtown Charleston. Home prices in New Parrish Village range from the mid $300's to the mid $400's.

Old Village overlooks the Charleston Harbor and is located directly southeast of Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC. This is one of the few Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods with Charleston Harbor views, so it's very popular with home buyers. The Old Village has many waterfront homes, and it has a mix of new construction homes as well as homes built in the 1800's. Old Village is by far one of the best locations in Mount Pleasant. It's about 5 minutes away from downtown and about 10 minutes away from Sullivan's Island, the closest beach. Old Village home prices start in the high $300's and rise to more than $4 million.

Park West, the largest neighborhood in all of Charleston, feels almost like a town unto itself. It has schools, a car wash, doctors' offices, and a lot more all within the neighborhood's entrance. Some home buyers feel overwhelmed when they first enter Park West - and it's certainly not for everyone. But, if you're looking for a large neighborhood with a little bit of everything, Park West would be a good place to start your home search. Depending on the subsection, houses in Park West range from the low $200's to about $3 million.

Pinckney Place is one of Mt. Pleasant's newest communities. These homes feature large front porches and great low country designs. You'll find that most of the Pinckney Place home prices are in the $400-500K range and that the homes have lots of upgrades.

Planter's Pointe is a smaller neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant. The oldest homes date back to about 1996, but you'll find many that were built just in the past few years. Planters Pointe has a good mix of starter houses priced in the mid $200s as well as million dollar homes.

Ravens Run features high end real estate in Mount Pleasant. This gated community has larger than average lots for Mt. Pleasant (most are over an acre), and many of the homes in Ravens Run overlook the community's lake. Ravens Run has a mix of newer and older homes, so you'll find a range of home styles.

Rivertowne has two main sections. Rivertowne on the Wando is a riverfront community that has charming homes - but, they're on smaller lots than average for Mt. Pleasant. Rivertowne Country Club is a wonderful golfing community, and it's a very prestigious neighborhood. Although these sections are quite different from each other, they're both great options for home buyers looking for newer homes.

Scott's Creek is a new community off Rifle Range Road in Mt. Pleasant, SC. It is very close to the beaches - the Sullivan's Island bridge is within a few minutes' drive of Scott's Creek. There will be a six acre community park, walking trails, and a pond. Scott's Creek will consist of about forty homesites, some of which will back up to the green space and/or the pond. This community will be made up of custom-built homes.

Seaside Farms is a Mt. Pleasant community located off Rifle Range Road, so it's about a 5 minute drive from the beach at Isle of Palms and about a 15 minute drive from downtown. Seaside Farms is made up of single family homes, town homes, and condominiums. Most of the condominiums are priced in the $200's, while the town homes are usually in the $300's. Single family homes are priced starting in the low $400's and go up to about $1.5 million. The amenities for Seaside Farms include swimming pool, club house, play park, fitness center, and walking trails.

Sewee Preserve is a relatively small community with large, estate-sized lots in Mt. Pleasant - most of these are a little over 2 acres. It also has larger homes with plenty of upgrades. The majority of the Sewee Preserve homes are in the $2-3 million price range. Sewee Preserve is a gated community with about 400 acres of preserved land for the approximate 30 homeowners. Because of this high ratio of land to residents, Sewee Preserve has a very different feel to it than some of the other Mt. Pleasant communities in this price range.

Snee Farm is one of the more affordable golfing communities in Mount Pleasant. It features single family homes, town homes, and condos. Most condominiums and townhouses start in the mid to high $100's and go up to the mid $200's. Single family homes in Snee Farm are priced from the low $200's to over $1 million. Most of these homes were built in the 1970's and 1980's, so some of them need updating. Amenities include golf, tennis courts, swimming pool, and club house. The average price per square foot is about $160. From Snee Farm it takes about 10 minutes to drive to the beach and about 15 minutes to drive to downtown Charleston. Snee Farm is located off Highway 17 in Mt. Pleasant.

Sweetgrass features houses with traditional designs and floor plans that were built in the 1990s. Many of these homes back up to the community's lake for added privacy. Sweetgrass appeals to many home buyers looking for affordable waterfront homes in Mt. Pleasant - although the homes are not marshfront, they're more affordable (but still with good views and privacy). The stop light at the entrance on Rifle Range provides easy access to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Sweetgrass is about a 5 minute drive to the closest beach and about 15 minutes to downtown Charleston.

Wakendaw Lakes is an established neighborhood in Mount Pleasant, SC. Most of the homes were built from the 1970s to the 1990s, so you'll find a range of home styles available. Wakendaw Lakes prices range from the high $300's to around $1 million. This single family home community is off Mathis Ferry Road and features a 25-acre lake. It is located about 10 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from the beach.

Waters Edge is made up of traditional style houses that were built in the 1990s. Located just off the Isle of Palms Connector, Waters Edge is just about a 5 minute drive to the beach and about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Charleston.
