Eastwood is one of only a handful of James Island neighborhoods overlooking the Charleston Harbor. Homes are within walking distance of the James Island Yacht Club and Demetre Park (located directly on the harbor) and also the playground at Pinckney Park (located across the road from the community). Since Eastwood has no true amenities, these perks are ideal for residents to enjoy. While one side of the community offers unobstructed views of Downtown Charleston, another side backs up to May Forest Convent, so Eastwood has a unique feeling of being so close and yet so tucked away from Charleston. The large oak trees and quiet feel of the community add to the high demand from home buyers. Eastwood homes for sale range from brick ranches to multi million dollar homes which fetch some of the highest James Island real estate prices.

Eastwood Homes and Local Info
Eastwood is an established neighborhood with mostly older homes built from the 1950's to the 1990's. More recently, homes on Wampler Drive have been built to replace the older houses because these lots are located directly on the Charleston Harbor. Since there have been so many different builders over the course of several decades, Eastwood has a wonderful range of home styles. You'll see mostly brick or wood siding homes, both 1 and 2 story floor plans, 3-5 bedrooms, and square footages ranging up to 4,000+. Most lot sizes range from a fourth to a half acre which is larger than average for James Island neighborhoods.
For folks who enjoy walking or running, this is a fantastic community because few areas offer such amazing views. Demetre Park (often referred to as Sunrise Park among locals) has 2 small beaches at low tide. There's also a very nice fishing dock with a large floater that provides great water access for kayakers.
Buyers who decide to purchase in Eastwood are usually looking for a home with established trees, a larger yard, highly ranked schools, and do not mind renovating or adding personal touches. They also enjoy the convenience of Downtown Charleston being only 5 minutes away with 2 stop lights. Folly Beach is a short 10 minute drive.
