Stiles Point Plantation Homes for Sale: James Island

Stiles Point Plantation is located off Harbor View Road on James Island - about 5 minutes from Downtown Charleston and 10-15 minutes from Folly Beach. To get Downtown, residents simply turn right out of the neighborhood onto Harbor View Road and go straight to the James Island Connector with just one stop light (one of the easiest commutes you'll find). Buyers tend to love the variety of designs and materials used (brick, wood, and cement plank siding) on these houses that were built mainly from the late 1970's to the late 1990's. You'll find occasional homes for sale that were built more recently, but the majority are older with traditional styles. Because of the general age of the neighborhood, some of these homes need cosmetic updating but rarely require more than that. Floor plans range from 3 to 5 bedrooms and 2,100 to 4,500 square feet. The average lot size is larger than typical for James Island houses, 0.25 to 0.5 acre.

Home buyers wanting to live on the Charleston Harbor often prefer Stiles Point Plantation and White Point over Eastwood and Clearview because the latter 2 are further from the peninsula. With some of the best views in Charleston, it's no surprise that the harbor front homes in Stiles Point Plantation fetch multi-million dollar prices (some of the highest prices in the James Island real estate market).

Located just across Harbor View Road, you'll find a Harris Teeter grocery store, gas station, and a few local restaurants like Aji Asian Bistro. Within a 5-10 minute drive, you can get to great parks, movies at Terrace Theater, and a long list of fantastic local restaurants. If you are looking for a pool, you can join Fort Johnson Estate's pool which is just a few minutes' drive.

One of the biggest perks for living in Stiles Point Plantation is the school zoning. Stiles Point Elementary is one of the top rated on James Island (and in Charleston County as a whole). James Island has just one middle school (Camp Road Middle) and one high school (James Island Charter), so all island residents are zoned for these. If you're looking for private schools, Porter Gaud and Ashley Hall are some of the best in South Carolina and are an easy commute.
