We’ve also added a new page to the site that shows which James Island neighborhoods are usually zoned for which schools.  The list includes neighborhoods as well as apartment complexes, so it’s all of the information we have.  We’ve been told that this list is even more accurate than the MLS.  However, we always confirm any information that our clients need before they buy.  This James Island school list is quite helpful, though!

In response to the many questions we get about Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods, we have added 14 more neighborhoods to the page on our site.  Of course, there are still some communities in Mt. Pleasant that are not on our list, but we’ve included the 35 most popular subdivisions in the area.  We’ll continue to add info to the neighborhoods pages, but we wanted to let you know of the update so that you can search for Mt. Pleasant homes by neighborhood (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the updated list)!

James Island does not have nearly the selection of townhouses in comparison with the selection of condos available.  But, there are some great townhouse communities in the area.  Below you’ll see three of the newest townhouse neighborhoods on James Island.  You can use the links to see more information and MLS listings for each neighborhood.

Meridian Place is one of the more popular townhouse subdivisions.  Current townhouse prices start around $170,000 for 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.  The 3 bedroom / 2 bath townhouses start just under $200,000.  Even though these townhouses were built from 2001 to 2004, they’re still some of the newest ones you’ll find in the area.  And, some of the units have attached garages.

Home buyers generally like Meridian Place townhouses on James Island because they are relatively new, and they’re in a great location.  Folly Beach is about a 5 minute drive, and downtown Charleston is less than a 10 minute drive.  Meridian Place has some of the lowest monthly regime fees that you’ll find on James Island (approximately $67 per month), and the fees cover maintenance of the common areas, landscaping and irrigation for the individual townhouses, a termite bond, and access to the walking trails and tennis court.  Few townhouse or condo neighborhoods have walking trails, and Meridian Place also has several ponds throughout the community.  Each townhouse has a backyard that is fenced, and the owner is responsible for maintaining the backyard.
